Thakur was born in Nagpur, Maharastra, India on August 1, 1992. She belongs to Marathi Hindu family. She completed her education from Kishinchand Chellaram College. Mrunal has a younger brother and elder sister. She was in a relationship with Writer Sharad Chandra Tripathi.
